Ice Pigging in Frankfurt

Commercial Director, Sean, tells all about Achema 24...

Over a week ago now, with our event stand planned to perfection and iced margaritas (non-alcoholic) at the ready, myself, Tim and Martin set off to Frankfurt for the event of the year, Achema 24.

Packed with all types of innovative engineering stands, technical talks, and demonstrations, it was a fascinating week in the German city. To sum it up in three words I'd say it was insightful, informative and transformative!

With lots of highlights it's hard to pick out a few to talk about here, but getting the opportunity to meet up with existing customers for some face to face time informally was definitely up there, as was exploring the exhibition as a visitor.

Our stand had a steady stream of visitors each day. We're a welcoming bunch and our offering of non-alcoholic margaritas went down a storm too. Visitors to our stand were extremely knowledgeable and inquisitive about how Ice Pigging could help solve their challenges, so many an in-depth conversation was had and lots of working relationships were forged.

The shear size of the event and number of visitors from all over the world gave Nivalis exposure that is hard to come by for an SME with a “new” product. It was great to acknowledge early on in the week that we had made the right decision to be part of the event. For those without much exposure in Europe, who have new products and especially exporters, it is definitely a worthwhile event to attend. The German market is huge and most of the larger German (and other Northern European companies) were well represented.

Between Tim, Martin and I we talked to over 300 people over the course of the event, and served around 200 non alcoholic, and 10 not so non-alcoholic, margaritas...

As with any event the days were long and it was very tiring but well worth all the planning, organisation, travel and effort. We met a huge array of experts in their respective fields and a lot of people who had never heard of Ice Pigging. Our main reason for attending Achema was to spread the word and get people in manufacturing talking about the potential of Ice Pigging, something which I feel we achieved successfully.

A huge thank you from us all here at Nivalis to all of the team behind running the event - we had a great time.
