
Martin Herbert - Engineering Director
With over 15 years of experience our Engineering Director, Martin Herbert, was part of the research group at The University of Bristol who were responsible for developing the original Ice Pigging concept. Led by professor Joe Quarini, the inventor of Ice Pigging, Martin and his colleagues took the process of Ice Pigging out of the laboratory and turned it into the useful, practical industrial tool which we use today.

Sean Ashton - Commercial Director
Our Commercial Director, Sean Ashton, has been instrumental in developing Ice Pigging and introducing our products and services into the manufacturing and industrial sectors that we work in today. Sean has an engineering background and has commercial and business development experience in many sectors, including water, chemical and maritime. Sean's experience and expertise has played a pivotal role in focusing Nivalis and therefore Ice Pigging in these manufacturing and industrial areas.
Sean leads the team in terms of Business Development and Business Strategy.

Tim Deans - Operations Director
Our Operations Director, Tim Deans, has been involved in Ice Pigging for over 15 years, was part of the team at the University of Bristol who worked on the original concept and is also a chartered Mechanical Engineer. Tim has had the opportunity to work in a range of different industries around the world, from Ice Pigging water mains in the middle of the night, to cleaning industrial pipes at cosmetics and pet food sites, owing to which Tim has a varied and extensive experience with the technology.

Dom Ash - Technical Director
Continuing our team’s in-depth knowledge of Ice Pigging technology, our CAD & Software Designer Dom Ash assisted in the design of Ice Pigging equipment at ADHQ Engineering. With a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol which lead to an EngD (Engineering Doctorate) in Ice Pigging, Dom also carried out a year of post doctoral research into Ice Pigging in the Food Industry. He then spent six years with SUEZ before bringing his wealth of knowledge to Nivalis-Tech Limited.

Wojciech Kocaja - Project Engineer / Quality Lead
Before joining Nivalis, our project engineer Wojciech Kocaja worked as a Pharmaceutical Water Systems Matter Expert using Ice Pigging technology as an important step in biofilm remediation process on Pharma Water Systems. Wojciech now uses his in-depth knowledge of Ice Pigging technology across different sectors, including the pharmaceutical industry.

Christopher Walsh - Field Engineer
Having worked in engineering for all of his professional career, and as a former Royal Navy WO2 Artificer, our Field Engineer, Christopher Walsh, is able to put his real life experience to work supporting Nivalis customers across the globe. Chris's wealth of experience is utilised in supporting our customers with service and support, and, on the rare occasion that a system has a fault he is deployed to fault find and rectify. Chris also supports the team in system builds and therefore has a deep understanding of our Ice Pigging equipment.

Anna Janiszewska - Administrative support
Supporting the team from the office, Anna Janiszewska uses her background in the financial sector to support the engineering team with procurement and bookkeeping, as well as assisting the operations team with maintaining the quality management system.

Adam Prescott - Sales and Projects Leader - Australia
With over 30 years experience in the chemical, water and wastewater industries, we’re pleased to have Adam Prescott representing Nivalis in Australia. Adam has worked in technical, sales, design and management positions throughout the UK and Australia, and is a Chartered Engineer, and Registered Engineer in Queensland.
With a fundamental belief in the value of water and the necessity of reducing our impact on the environment, Adam was part of the team that recently revised and updated the Australian Standards on grey and wastewater treatment.
Adam provides technical support to industrial customers and those new to Ice Pigging in Australia. Adam advises companies looking to implement Ice Pigging and can "sense check" applications regarding their suitability for Ice Pigging. Adam has a wealth of experience and is an extremely valued member of the Nivalis team.

Riitta Virtanan - Ice Pigging in Finland
Riitta supports us with Ice Pigging enquiries from within Finland and the near Baltic area.
Having worked in the international and local water supply industry for over 25 years, liaising with utilities, contractors and consulting engineers across a range of projects, Riitta is very experienced and highly respected in the field of municipal drinking water applications.
With experience in maintenance, CCTV, cleaning, relining and rehabilitation of water and wastewater networks Riitta has worked with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and EU-funded projects, providing water leak detection equipment and associated training to the Baltic Sea Region.
Riitta is also a founding member of the Finnish Society for Trenchless Technology (FiSTT) with a passion about educating and advancing the industry to use the latest, smartest technology to ensure customers receive the highest quality of service while also saving time, money and energy.
